St John’s was the first city in the new world.  Its history and beauty are evident everywhere you look. But there’s much more here than meets the eye.

Newfoundland and Labrador’s provincial economy is among the fastest growing in all of Canada.  In fact, some might say it’s simmering and about to explode.  As the provincial capital, St John’s is truly the economic hub of the province. With an abundance of natural resources close at hand including lucrative mining, fishing and offshore oil, St John’s is the headquarters for the many major offshore oil operators and service companies. Health, government and education centers are also based in the capital city and there is a strong IT and research sector that is growing into a major part of the economy.
