Iain McNeil

Iain McNeil is a Director of Odgers Ray & Berndtson.  He is responsible for operational issues within the business. Responsibilities include the key operational departments and recruiting consultants. He also guides and directs front of house activities such as PR, marketing planning, resources and HR.

Iain joined Odgers in 1999, prior to which he was the Chief Operating Officer of the recruitment division of a leading services plc. 

Iain's early career was in the Army, joining the Coldstream Guards.  After Sandhurst he served in a number of operational posts including Northern Ireland, Cyprus and the Middle East.  He also served in Germany, Hong Kong and the UK.  He was an instructor with the Royal Marines at the Commando Training Centre. 

He attended the Army Staff Course, Higher Command and Staff Course and the Royal College of Defence Studies.  His latter career included command of 1st Battalion Coldstream Guards in Northern Ireland and the Gulf War.  He commanded 1st Brigade at Tidworth, Wiltshire, which also included a military garrison of over 10,000 soldiers and families.  His final job was in the MoD, responsible for the Army's direction for discipline and all service conditions.

Iain has extensive experience of Whitehall, briefing to Secretary of State level and has appeared before the Education and Defence Select Committees of Parliament. He has also been a Council Member of the Navy Army and Air Force Institute and sat on the Services' Honours and Awards Committee.
