Daniel Lau

Daniel Lau is a Managing Partner with Odgers Ray & Berndtson, Shanghai where he is engaged on high level assignments across a wide range of functions. He heads the Industrial practice with a special focus on Energy Utilities and is a member of the Consumer Products & Services and Life Sciences practices.

Before joining the search industry Daniel enjoyed an extensive career in oil and gas in both the upstream and downstream sectors with the Royal Dutch Shell Group for 25 years. He held a number of executive management positions spanning general business management, sales and marketing and contract procurement in Greater China and Canada.

Daniel was formerly Chairman of Hong Kong Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) Safety and Technical Committee, board director of Hong Kong Dutch Business Association and Honorable Advisor of Zhejiang province’s Zhapu economic development zone.

A Chinese Canadian, he received his bachelor degree from the University of Calgary in Alberta, Canada. He speaks Mandarin, Cantonese & English.
