Gerard F. Cattie, Jr. is a Managing Director with Diversified Search Ray & Berndtson in New York. His practice encompasses searches for senior leadership positions in prominent arts & cultural institutions, non-profit organizations, and higher education institutions, as well as technology-driven organizations throughout the country. Most recently, Mr. Cattie joined the firm's Media & Entertainment practice in order to bridge our track record in senior arts & cultural search with our nationally recognized commercial entertainment and media practice. His clients represent a wide array of cultural and performing arts entities, media outlets, national research universities, liberal arts colleges, and private companies. After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1988, where he studied at the Annenberg School for Communication, Mr. Cattie began his career in publishing at Rolling Stone Magazine. He then spent a decade in key administrative leadership roles within a variety of arts, cultural, and educational institutions. He joined Diversified Search in 1999 from the University of Pennsylvania's Office of Development and Alumni Relations where he served as Regional Director of Major Gifts at the Wharton School. While at Wharton, Mr. Cattie served as part of the fundraising team that crafted the School's historic $450 million Campaign for Sustained Leadership. Prior to joining Penn, Mr. Cattie spent several years in senior development and administrative roles for Pennsylvania Ballet. In addition to a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania, Mr. Cattie holds a Master of Government Administration from the University of Pennsylvania's Fels Institute of Government. He is active in various community affairs and organizations including the University of Pennsylvania Alumni Society, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and serves as Board of Governor Emeritus of the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) in Washington, DC.
